Denham Jacket Pattern – PDF DOWNLOAD

Inspired by a vintage Austrian hiking jacket. This neat mid-season piece is perfect for all weathers. A double breasted jacket that can be lined or unlined. It features two flap pockets and a button tab to close the collar.

Denham is more closely fitting than a lot of other Merchant & Mills patterns. Carefully check the finished measurements table, and if in doubt size up.

Skill level: Intermediate

Format: This is a multi-size digital PDF pattern sent to your email, including UK sizes 6-18 or 18-28.

  • Sizes 6-18: This PDF pattern is made up of 3 A0 pages and 53 A4 (or US Letter) pages.
  • Sizes 18-28: This PDF pattern is made up of 4 A0 pages and 63 A4 (or US Letter) pages.

PDF’s will include a tiled file, an A0 copy shop file, and your instructions. The tiled file can be used on any home printer and pieced together. It is compatible with both A4 and US letter paper. The instructions can either be printed at home or simply follow along on your computer or phone.

Seam allowances are 1.5cm and are included in the pattern.

Recommended Fabric:
Dry oilskin, oilskin, linen, 8 -12oz denim, wool, corduroy, cotton twills or canvas. A heavier weight cloth will result in a more structured jacket.

For linings we suggest M&M barrier lining if using an oilskin, otherwise – cotton voile, lightweight linen, cotton poplin, and slip linings.

Materials Needed: 

  • 1 x Matching thread
  • 16 x 3/4″ buttons*
  • If making an unlined jacket, you will need 1/2 YD of lining for the pocket bags
  • *Optional – 3 smaller buttons can be used on the tab and lapel, in which case you will need: 13 x 3/4″ and 3 x 1/2″ buttons
