Thin fusible interfacing to reinforce buttonholes
Optional : a non-separable zip for the front panel (zip with plastic or metallic teeth). Zip will have to be shortened down to reach the correct size; cut or remove teeth with pliers and replace the metal stop ring if there is one. Otherwise, sew down with lockstitches.

Decorative patches (fabric 3) : Felt (if it is woolen felt … do not use a tumble dryer.
For the zipped option, the head circumference is a little reduced. This version is not recommended for babies with “big heads”.
The zip (about 10cm in haberdashery) is to be shortened by removing teeth or cutting.
